Impossible Salvation Made Possible In Christ (pt. 1)
Eternal life in God's Kingdom is impossible without humbly following Christ.
1. Childlike faith is required for eternal life in God's Kingdom (v. 13-14)
2. God's perfect goodness is the standard required for entrance into God's Kingdom (v. 15-22)
Questions for Prayer, Meditation, Discussion, and Application:
- Why do you think the disciples tried to prevent the children from coming to Jesus? In what ways might we still unintentionally treat certain people as distractions from "more important" ministry?
- Why does Jesus focus so much attention on the word "good"? What is the difference between being "good" compared to other people and being "good" according to God's standard?
- Jesus says, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Why is that statement good news for someone who recognizes that they don't have the kind of faith, repentence, or willingness to surrender that they ought to have?
