Set Your Minds on Our Crucified and Risen Christ

Main Idea: Only Christ's death and resurrection accomplish the eternal deliverance from suffering and death that sinful man vainly seeks to escape. Or: Christ crucified and risen is out only hope in life and death.
1. Jesus Christ had to suffer, be killed, and rise again for God's plan of redemption to be accomplished.
2. Our response to the prospect or present reality of suffering and death reveals a mindset that is God-trusting or Satanically man-centered.
a. Do not set your mind on the things of man: We want a painless, cross-less, deathless life on our own terms, not God's.
b. Set your mind on the things of God: Following Christ in His suffering, death, and life is the ONLY way to have true life eternally!
