Christ Proclaimed ✥ Lives Transformed

The King's Chosen Messengers

Jun 29, 2025    Aaron Russo

Main Idea: Jesus the King is the apostles' message, and he is the only source of their authority and power.

I. Our gracious triune God is sovereign over the conduits of his message. (1a)

II. Jesus grants his transforming power to accompany and authorize his message. (1b)

III. The apostles' testimony outlives their deeds. (2-4)

a. Even false messages serve the purpose of Christ.

b. Even forgotten messengers are remembered by God.

Questions to consider:

- What expectations do you have for the skill and credentials for stewards and heralds of the gospel? Are there any criteria that Jesus' own chosen apostles wouldn't meet?

- Do you depend on Jesus to put out the Holy Spirit's transforming power when you share the Gospel? How does trusting his sovereignty change how you think about your conversations with unbelievers?

- What do you want to be remembered for? Who do you want to be remembered by? Will testimony of your life be your own accomplishments or the message of the gospel of Jesus?
