God Made Flesh to Make Sinners Clean
Main Idea: God became man in Jesus Christ to cleanse us of sins by his own blood.
Introduction:
- Revelation 5:11-13, Romans 5:1-8
I. What we were: Separated from our Holy God because of our stain of sin, unwilling and unable to make ourselves clean.
- Hebrews 9:22, 9:11-14
II. Who he is: The God-Man, uniquely able and willing to pay an infinite debt and die a sinner's death.
- Hebrews 2:14-15, Colossians 1:19-22, Isaiah 53:10-11
III. How his incarnation changes everything: We can be cleansed from our sin and reconciled to God once and for all by his blood on the cross.
- Ephesians 1:4-8, 1 John 1:9, Hebrews 10:19-25

Questions to Consider:
- "After making purification for our sins..." --- How does truly grasping the finished nature of Christ's work (he sat down) change the way you relate to God on a daily basis, especially when you sin?
- What parts of Christ's incarnation and sacrifice have become familiar to you; what would it look like to recover awe and worship?
- Who can you intentionally "draw near to" this week to encourage, stir up, or remind of the hope you have in Christ?
