Current prayer needs

9/1/21 - Heather Lambert
Many of you know that Shepherd is starting school this year (2nd Grade) for the first time ever after being homeschooled the last two years.  He started on Monday and is struggling a lot. He says he hates school, it's way too long, and doesn't know anybody in his class. He is incredibly homesick and lonely and feels like going to school is a punishment. (Asher was supposed to attend as well but his class was full this year.) His anxiety causes his tummy to hurt and he has no appetite. He is crying all morning and getting him ready for school is a challenge. Ben drops him off in the morning and he cries all the way to school. He's been crying at times throughout the day especially during times of transition.
We are resolved this is the best decision for our family this year and we aren't going to let him stay home, but we won't lie that it is challenging for us as parents. Please pray for us as a family and most of all for him as he makes this huge transition to attending school all day. Pray that he finds things to enjoy and eventually love about school. Pray he forms close friendships and has that to look forward to. Pray he gets over his fear and dread and accepts that this is what he is going to do and makes the best of it. And pray for us as parents that we know how best to encourage him, when he needs extra grace and when he needs some tough love.
Update 9/3
Thank you friends for your encouraging notes and prayers! Shepherd's week got better each day and he ended telling us had a 'very good day'! He was willingly sharing lots of details about school.  Praise the Lord for his grace to Shepherd! We are hoping the momentum will continue on Tuesday after a long weekend. We are still expecting a struggle especially after 4 days off. Please pray for him next week as well! Thank you!

9/1/21 - Sarah Wullbrandt
Hello Church family,
Wren officially started school today! In Croatia kindergarten is three years so she started what would be her second year of kindergarten. She is in a classroom with 26 five year olds (she will turn five in November) and two teachers Teta Dubravko and Teta Katarina. Her assistant teacher, Teta Katarina, speaks a little English but other than that everyone speaks only Croatian!
- Pray for Wren to learn the language and not get upset when she doesn’t understand. - Pray for her to share with other students (something Wren is working on). 😉
- Pray for many gospel opportunities through this new setting we are involved with.

8/12/21 - Roddie Woodward (From Amy Wullbrandt)
This morning I received a call from some dear friends who love the Lord and are struggling with great fear right now.  Valarie and Hale (Woody) Woodward asked me to put their son on our church’s prayer list.  Their son Roddie, age 51, has been at U. Mass. Hospital for the last week with Covid.  It is a very bad case and he has been on 100% oxygen.  Today they are putting him on a ventilator.  He has two boys.  The Woodwords covet your prayers on behalf of their son.  God is glorified in this desire to run to Him for help and in giving the great body of Christ the opportunity to pray.  We pray for strength, wisdom, and a firm hold on God’s sovereignty and love for Roddie and all his family.  We pray that trust in the Lord prevails and gives perfect comfort as only He can as this storm of life swirls about this family.
Thank you for loving the Woodwards this way and for seeking and trusting in the Lord on their behalf!
Update 8/25  (from Sarah Bilby)
His lung damage is severe, and needs supernatural healing.  That said, it is heartening to know that he’s still alive and can respond via finger movements.  We need to keep praying.
Update 9/3 (from the LeCalaires)
They had to re-paralyze him because he is working too hard to breathe on his one. He has a catheter which can be removed ultimately, but is more comfortable for the time being than tubes down the throat. He is still in a dangerous state at this point.
Update 9/6 (from Amy)
I talked with Hale Woodward today. He had just talked with Roddie’s doctor who said there was nothing more they can do. Hale had to make the decision about turning off the ventilator. It will be turned off tomorrow, Tuesday.  He was feeling a lot of guilt over that. (What a decision for a father to make for his son!) He told me that a pastor told him he didn’t need to feel guilty. Tomorrow when they turn off the ventilator if Roddie lives it will be God’s will and if he dies it will be God’s will. Hale agreed and found peace in remembering that.  He is deeply sad, but expresses huge gratitude for the prayers of Crossway’s people and pastor. He intends to visit Crossway soon, so be looking for him!  Roddie, Hale and Valarie, his two sisters and two children have been covered by your prayers. They have been blessed and God has been glorified!🙏❤️
